PC Overhaul

Yesterday was a baaaaad day at home. First thing to kaput in the morning was the son’s PC which managed to boot up (with difficulty) but kept on freezing after that. As he has 3 hard drives in his PC, my diagnosis was that the D drive had died – which proved to be correct. However the registry was corrupted also so it was a complicated repair job even for hubby. Good thing it was a cool day yesterday so at least hubby didn’t sweat while labouring over it during his lunch hour with no success. He finally got things going after dinner that night having to reformat the C drive and removing the D. Needless to say the son was pretty upset by the normal break in his routine. He even refused to play with the laptop in the evening!

Next thing to kaput was his old VCR which simply refused to eject the tape. *Sigh* Looks like we need a new replacement as he still has a lot of favourite shows on videotapes. And did I mention the lousy Streamyx connection we have been getting the last few days? I couldn’t even connect to the internet yesterday evening, but thankfully it was better at night. Things are back to normal today – son is happy playing on his overhauled PC and Streamyx is behaving. Hubby told me to stay away from all electrical/electronic appliances after that!!
